Regional Archive
This Regional archive is a virtual archive which includes both the central and local government cadastral authority archives. This archive contains land reform maps from the 1700's and 1800's as well material from many other cadastral surveys carried out prior to 1928.

Land Survey Board Archive
The Land Survey Board archive contains a selection of materials from the period 1630—1928. The archive includes road maps, county and province maps, parish maps, geometrical atlases, hand drawn copies of maps from the storskifte major land reform as well as some cadastral information from the Regional archive.

Geographical Survey Archive
The Geographical Survey Office archive contains an Economic, Topographic (Ordnance Survey) and the so-called County Economic maps. The sheets in these three map series, which are based on fixed gridlines, describe Sweden’s topography, economy, built-up areas and communications in the 19th and 20th centuries.

  • Sweden is today divided into 21 counties. As the county classification in the archive is based on the 1920's, there will be some discrepancies compared with the current county classification.

  • These maps are taken from a number of smaller series and are often small scale maps which can extend beyond county boundaries

  • The parish used to be an administrative division in Sweden. Different reforms have seen this division replaced by the current municipalities. The division into counties and parishes shown in the dropdown lists is from the 1920s and does not always conform to present-day divisions.     Economic Map (1935-1978)
    (1935-1978) Based on aerial photography and shows among other things, properties, register designation, buildings and land use. The economical map also includes a number of place names.

    Topographic (Ordnance Survey) Map (1827-1971)
    (1827-1971)Describes land use and details landscape, altitude, communications, buildings and summary land use.

    Hundred's Map (Economic map of a Hundred) (1859-1934)
    (1859-1934)Based on the final land reform and gives a good overview of land use, vegetation, buildings, communication and boundaries.
